Second diorama created and given as a gift

 I made another similar pocket watch diorama for my sister-in-law's birthday. She asked us where we got it from! She was a bit amazed when I said I made it. :-)

So where next?

I have no more old pocket watches left. I've been thinking of making diorama frames out of clay at my ceramics class which starts soon, a simple frame with a bit at the top to put a nail through. I can't think what else I can use as a frame - it would be good to use a byproduct of something else that's not needed, as I like giving objects a new life.

Bristol House Diorama

My Bristol terraced house pocket watch diorama is finished, complete with little tree, grass and the smallest plastic people ever, only 2mm tall! I popped a little bit of painted watercolour paper into the back for the sky. The peopel are so small that they also seem to look painted, but I assure you they are real plastic - they are  T-gauge railway model size, the smallest in the world!

Diorama project

This diorama idea has been in my head for a while, so it's been good to give it a go today. The houses are made from polymer clay with hand drawn windows and doors. The diorama isn't finished yet; I need to find some grass to put in the foreground which I'm hoping I can get some from a model shop in Bristol.

I found the empty clock face in a box at the Bristol Vintage fair. If this project works well, I was thinking it might be nice to make more, as I love little houses.

Dioramas

I absolutely adore diorama jewellery. It's something I'd love to try. I've been checking out some stuff on Etsy and am wondering whether the sellers make their own pendant cases or if they get them from somewhere.
